Give Careful Consideration - always

Wise and frugal individuals give careful consideration to all offers, business dealings and personal decisions so they stay on track with their life plan.

The other reason to carefully consider things is to avoid wasting money on someone's hair-brain business idea, a get rich quick scheme, or the scam "du jour" that folks are peddling.

This isn't to say that there aren't some worthwhile opportunities to investigate. We shouldn't just clam up and "bar the door."

What we should do is recognize that when it comes to money matters, there are people out there that want it, and they'll employ just about every technique under the sun to get it. I'm not being pessimistic, I'm being realistic. Take a look here at how this "diet plan" is presented.

It's the money game. Frugal individuals know how to play it, and because they give careful consideration to what's going on around them, they know when they're "being played." Take a look at how many "sales" really aren't sales at all.

We don't have the "snake oil" salesmen of the past, but the same type of individuals are still selling hope, fear, popularity, prestige, convenience, fashion, beauty, self-esteem, gadgets, happiness, sure fire investments and cure-all products.

Some of the products and services have value, and some don't. To determine which is which, we need to give careful consideration to what is being offered, how it's being offered, when and why.

So, you've never been a member of a country club? Perhaps it's because you just don't need a membership, but that doesn't stop someone from offering you one.

Don't have a use for the motorhome? That's understandable, but it doesn't stop folks from filling the mall and its parking lot with various models and trying to sell you one.

And, you've owned cats and dogs all your life and fed them...whatever it is that you fed them. Only now there's special cat food for their "urinary tracts" and special "veterinarian formula" dog food for health. Do they need it? It's something you must decide.

The point is simply that you need to give careful consideration to all offers so you make wise decisions and stay on track with what you want - a bright financial future. And, remember, that's what those "snake oil" salesmen want too - a bright financial future based on helping themselves to your purse.
